Working with the Quick Toolbar in Forms 2.0

In Forms 2.0, instead of using a context (right-click) menu, certain common actions have been placed in the quick toolbar for easier accessibility.

Quick Toolbar

You can perform the following actions using the quick toolbar:

Table 4-5 Quick Toolbar

Icon Description
Adjust icon

Adjust: Increase or decrease the selected cell data by a positive or negative value, or a percentage value.

See Adjusting and Spreading Data.

Grid Spread icon

Grid Spread: Specify an amount or percentage by which to increase or decrease values across multiple dimensions, based on the existing values in the target cells. You can select a Proportionally, Evenly, or Fill spread pattern. To use grid spread, your administrator must enable Grid Spread as a form property.

See Spreading Values Using Grid Spread.

Comment icon

Comments: Explain data or provide background, and attach external files. You can add comments and attachments to a cell or to a range of cells across multiple dimensions. Multiple comments can be posted for the same cell. The comments popup can be used to upload attachments. Posted comments and attachments can also be deleted.

Note the following regarding attachments:

  • In Forms 2.0, you can attach files with file sizes of up to a maximum of 20 MB to formula cells.

  • Valid attachment file types are as follows:

    • Image types permitted: .jpg, .gif, .png, .7z

    • Non-image file types permitted: .csv, .xls, .xlsx, .txt, .zip, .jlf, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .rtf, .pdf, .gdoc, .gsheet, .gslides, .msg

  • There are restrictions on which characters are allowed in filenames for attachments. Filenames can only contain letters, digits, underscores ( _ ), hyphens ( - ), periods ( . ), and spaces.

  • When adding a URL attachment using Oracle Smart View for Office client, Oracle requires a valid URL using either the HTTP (http://) protocol or the secure HTTPS protocol (https://).

See About Cell Comments and Working with Attachments.

  • Line item details can be invoked from the context (right-click) menu or from the Quick Toolbar

  • Add child or siblings with provisioning to make arithmetic calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and so on)

  • Support only for rows (not for columns)

See About Using Line Item Details.

Change History icon

Change History: Displays the history of the changes made to the cell data.

See Seeing What's Changed.

Undo icon

Undo: Cancel the last change you made.

Gridlines icon

Gridlines: Click to toggle displaying the gridlines in the form.

Custom and Cell Style icon (This icon will change depending on which style option was selected previously. The default option is Custom and Cell Style.)

Cell Style icon Cell Style: Applies Web form styles (such as read-only cells, locked cells, supporting detail), Smart View cell styles defined in Smart View 24.200, data validation rules, and Groovy rules to the form. No custom (format-only) styles are applied.

Custom Style icon Custom Style: Applies format-only rules that were defined in the rule builder at design-time, and any Excel custom formatting that was added by administrators and users in Smart View. No cell styles are applied.

Custom and Cell Style icon Custom and Cell Style: Applies all cell styles and custom styles to the form. This is the default style option.

Note: Format rules have an order of precedence in cases where multiple rules are defined in the same location on a form. Order of precedence could impact how formatting is displayed on the runtime form.

For more information, see Order of Precedence for Format Rules in Administering FreeForm.
