Selecting the Output to Predict

Define the measure to predict for Advanced Predictions.

To define the output to predict:

  1. On the Historical Data page, if you haven't already done so, from the dimension list in the Define Model Scope section, click the down arrow Down arrow icon next to the dimension name for the dimension that has the measure you want to predict. The dimension is now listed in Select Output to Predict and Select Drivers as Input.
  2. In the Select Output to Predict section, enter a name for the measure, click the dimension name, and then use the Member Selector to select the member you want to predict.

This measure is also automatically used as an input driver to drive the prediction. For example, if you want to predict volume, historical volume is automatically taken into account in the prediction.

On the Future Data page, you can make changes if needed for Select Output to Predict.

Note:

To define Advanced Predictions for Dynamic Calc members, include the Dynamic Calc members in the Advanced Prediction definition. Dynamic Calc members can be defined in the source slice (historical data slice) and target slice (future data slice) and in the target measure to predict.

Additionally, associate the HSP_DYN_PREDICT with non-aggregating sparse dimensions such as Scenario, Version, Plan Element and so on. For more information about predictions for Dynamic Calc members, see Using Dynamic Calc Members in Insights and Predictive Planning, Auto Predict, and Advanced Predictions.
