Why can't I edit my articles in source mode as a knowledge author?

As a knowledge author, if you are not able to view the "Enable source editing" icon while updating an article, you need to request your administrator to assign you the necessary privileges to access source editing.

As an administrator, to enable source editing:

  • For Fusion Service Knowledge Management with Classic User Experience:
    • Source editing is available by default for all authors in Authoring Classic till release 24B.
    • From release 24C, you need to assign the CSO_KNOWLEDGE_ACCESS_SOURCE_MODE functional privilege to one of the user's roles.
  • For Fusion Service Knowledge Management with Redwood User Experience:
    • You need to assign the CSO_KNOWLEDGE_ACCESS_SOURCE_MODE functional privilege to one of the user's roles.
    • Ensure that the Source icon is not hidden:
      1. Select Setup and Maintenance.
      2. From the Setup menu, select the Service offering.
      3. Select the Knowledge Management functional area and click Manage Knowledge Authoring Rich Text Editor.
      4. Select the required department.
      5. Select the check box for the Source icon.
      6. Click Save.
      7. Click Done.
