Enable Workflows

By default, the workflow functionality in Knowledge Management is disabled. To use workflows in Knowledge Management, you must enable the respective activity type and standard lookup.

Use the following procedure to enable workflows:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Activity Type and Subtype task:
    • Offering: Sales
    • Functional Area: Sales Foundation
    • Task: Manage Activity Type and Subtype
  2. In the Manage Activity Type and Subtype page, search for ‘article’ and enable the Task check box for Article Workflow.
  3. Click Save and Close.
  4. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Activity Standard Lookups task. Make sure you select All Tasks in the Show drop-down to view the task.
    • Offering: Sales
    • Functional Area: Sales Foundation
    • Task: Manage Activity Standard Lookups
  5. In the Manage Activity Standard Lookups page, click ZMM_ACTIVITY_OUTCOME.
  6. Under Lookup Codes, search and enable the following lookup codes:
    • ORA_KM_APPROVED
    • ORA_KM_REJECTED
  7. (Optional) You can change the meaning of the lookup codes in the Meaning field to align with your business processes. For example, you can change 'Rejected' to 'Save for future release'.
  8. Click Save and Close.
