Data Copy and Display Options for Employee Transfers for the US

When transferring an employee to a different permanent legal employer (global transfer or global temporary assignment), you can select the data you want to copy from the source to the target assignment. By default, the transfer process uses the data from the worker's source assignment.

These tables describe the visibility of the various sections in the Local and Global Transfer task and what data gets copied from the source to the destination for a global transfer and global temporary assignment.

Note:
  • The Transfer Within Same LDG columns apply only to global transfers

Global temporary assignments to a different legislation always involve a change in legislative data group (LDG).

  • The Transfer to Different LDG Within Same Legislation and Transfer to Different Legislation columns can apply to both global transfers and global temporary assignments to a different legislation.

You can't edit the visibility of this section in HCM Experience Design Studio. Its visibility is controlled by the application.

The flow displays this section only if you are changing the legislation of the person’s work relationship. This is because the flow creates a name and legislation record based on the destination legislation

The flow includes Biographical Info and National Identifier because some applications, such as Payroll or Benefits, may require this info and including the regions during the transfer process reduces additional navigation.

If the codes are not the same, the fields are blank, and you can select from the destination country’s valid list of values.

The Local and Global Transfer process supports all accrual plans.

The process automates the accrual plan enrollment and copying of plan balances. When you transfer an employee, the process end-dates all active plans in their source assignment. If the employee is eligible for the same plans in their new organization, the process enrolls them.

The process copies work schedule assignments only if the schedule and exceptions are available.

Local and global transfers also automate work schedule enrollment and copy work schedule exceptions. When you globally transfer someone, the process end-dates all active and future work schedules and work schedule exceptions in the source legal employer. If the schedule and exceptions are available, the transfer process automatically links them with the same work schedule and work schedule exceptions in the new legal employer.

Note: As a manager or HR specialist, you can review all work schedule assignments affected by the transfer. Use the Change Legal Employer dashboard to see relevant messages about end-dating and copying schedules and exceptions.

  • V2 seniority dates: No seniority dates are displayed

  • V3 seniority dates: Only person-level seniority date rules that are configured to be displayed in guided flows

Document Records

The Local and Global Transfer task copies document records from the source to the destination assignment only if the ORA_PER_DOR_ASG_LVL_MOVE_ON_CHANGE_LE profile option is set to Y. In case of multiple assignments in the source work relationship, only document records from the assignment used to start the global transfer are moved.

Note: These transfer types don't support copying document records.

Features Not Copied

These features aren't specific to a worker's assignment and aren't directly impacted during a transfer. Hence, there's no data copy option for them.
