Global Transfers for the US

Any employee transfer that involves a change in legal employer is a global transfer. You use the Local and Global Transfer process to perform these transfers.

For further info, see Local and Global Transfer for the US on the Help Center.

During a global transfer, the process:

  1. Creates a work relationship and assignment in the new legal employers. It uses worker data from the original assignment.

  2. Terminates the original work relationship and all assignments date-effective as of the day prior to the transfer date.

  3. Sets the last standard earnings and last standard process dates.

  4. Terminates the original assignment after you enter the final close date.

Which assignments you can view is determined by:

  • Have you configured the application to view assignment history during a global transfer

  • Have you enabled assignment-level security

For example, if you have access to the destination assignment only, then you can't view the person’s complete assignment history. The person who has access to both the source and target assignment can view both the assignments in Business Title and employment history.
