Initializing Balances for China

In addition to the general guidance provided in the Overview of Balance Initialization topic, consider the following when initializing balances for China.

  • The tax year for China is the same as the calendar year. If you plan to go live with Fusion China Payroll in the middle of a year, you don't want to run payroll from the beginning of the year. You can use the balance initialization functionality to initialize the balances to be used in tax calculation.
  • If you run payroll once in a pay period, the example shows you the balances you need to initialize for calculating tax for a normal employee.
  • If you run payroll once in a pay period: for an employee who's entitled to special tax reduction, you need to initialize one more balance, in addition to the nine balances. It is the regular tax special tax reduction amount, with the relationship, tax unit, and year to date dimension.
  • If you run payroll twice in a pay period, and plan to go live after the first run is complete for the pay period. To start payroll run in Fusion starting from the second run of the pay period, there are additional balances you need to initialize with the relationship, tax unit, and month to date dimension to assure the social security deductions aren't deducted again in the second run.
