Time Configuration When Terminate Today Is on the Same Day or a Future Day

You terminate someone's employment today with an employment termination date that's also today, or a future date.

Best Practice Configuration

The group membership configuration has the person continue as a member of relevant HCM groups even after the employment termination date. The group membership keeps the person automatically associated with active time entry and processing profiles that include those HCM groups.

Functional Tasks Supported by This Configuration

Here's what happens before and after the employment termination date:

  • Everyone with the appropriate privileges, and scheduled processes, can create, edit, delete, and submit time cards for the person. This protects the sensitive period so that the person can't detect a future employment termination entered in Global HR.
  • Approval, rejection, and informational notifications get sent automatically to recipients when the person's time cards get submitted. Task configurations for the time card approval workflows identify the recipients.

Before the employment termination date, administrators for applicable time consumers, such as payroll, transfer the approved time data. The configurations for the person's time consumer set and the time card approval workflows decide time data approval.

After the employment termination date, administrators for applicable time consumers, such as payroll, can't transfer the approved time data.
