Confirm the Results of Your Balance Initialization

It's the responsibility of your conversion team to choose a balance reconciliation method that best ensures a complete match between your legacy balances and the predefined Oracle Cloud balances.

Your Payroll Administrator must then account for any variance, especially the tax-related balances. Oracle Cloud Payroll uses these balances not only for payroll calculation but also for quarter and year-end tax reporting.

To do this:

  1. Begin by inspecting the balance values of a few employees that represent a good statistical sampling of the balances you initialized.

    For example, to inspect employee balances using the Person Results task:

    1. From My Client Groups, click Payroll.

    2. In Flow Submission and Results, click Person Results.

    3. Search for and select the person.

    4. For the Balance Initialization process, select Balance Results.

    5. In Balance Results, select Balance Name.

    6. Select the name of the balance you want to view.

    7. Click Search.

  2. Identify and correct any errors to these and other employees as your research dictates.

  3. Continue checking the balance load results until you are satisfied all issues have been addressed.

  4. Repeat these steps for the entire company population.

When you run this report, make sure you use a date range that captures when your balance initialization transactions occurred. For example, if initializing balances as of 06/30/2023, make sure you run the report with a date range of 01/01/2023 through 06/30/2023.

Note: This report doesn't include all balances that you may have initialized.

Use to validate the tax balances you loaded.

Periodic Statutory Deduction Register

Use to validate the employer liabilities, involuntary deductions, employee taxes, and employer taxes you loaded.
