Overview of Payroll Interface for Ascender

Payroll Interface for Ascender integrates Oracle HCM Cloud with Ascender payroll application. Use this interface to extract information, such as the salary and earnings details of employees in the format required by Ascender payroll.

Note: Ascender payroll Interface extracts and reports only employee information.

Ascender payroll Interface reports historical records for salary, element entries, and bank accounts on personal payment methods. These records include all effective-dated records that are effective within the specified extraction window. For all other data, the top of the stack record that’s effective, as on the effective as of date, is reported. Please note that the value provided for the Process End Date parameter when submitting the interface is taken as effective as of date.

Prerequisite configurations on HCM Cloud for Ascender payroll interface:

Refer to chapter Global Payroll Interface Extract.

Configuration of Ascender payroll interface

Learn how to set up a payroll interface for Ascender in the chapter Generate Your Payroll Interfaces. You will need to collaborate with your Ascender contact to determine the list of data groups, records, and attributes that will be included in the interface. Please note that if this is not done, errors may occur during the integration process and there may be issues with data created on Ascender payroll.

Element Entries

Element entries act as the pivot of integration between payroll and a range of other modules like Absence, Time and Labor, Benefits, Compensation, and so on. Ascender payroll interface has no restrictions when extracting element entry data, element entries pertaining to all classifications are extracted if they're effective during the extraction period.

Due to the differences in the functional nature of element entries that are posted by various modules, additional configurations or minor fine tuning may be required to ensure that these entries are consumed by Ascender payroll the way they're intended to be.

Note: Work with your Ascender counterpart to understand the scope and process of consumption of elements. Not all element classifications may be used. Additional configurations may be required to facilitate consumption of certain elements.

Out Of Scope

Data from the following modules aren't reported in the current release.

  • Time and Labor

Setup Recommendations

Where possible record the employee information required for the country’s statutory deduction calculations directly on the payroll system. This is to keep a consistent approach across all the countries.

If you are already recording the information on Oracle Cloud (CIR Data), you need not record this information again on the payroll system.

Operational Recommendations

Regular runs of Payroll Interface for Ascender should be submitted with the Changes Only parameter value set to Changed Attributes.
