Example of Delegating Access for Journeys and Tasks
Pooja Kapoor is a Line Manager who wants to delegate her journeys and tasks access to her peer Megan Miller before proceeding on a long leave.
This example assumes that Pooja has the role named Vision_Journeys Manager having the Manage Journey By Manager duty role. After this custom role is delegated to Megan, she will be able to access journeys and tasks.
Enable Delegation and Add Security Profiles for Custom Role
- In the Setup and Maintenance work area, search and select the Manage Data Role and Security Profiles task.
- Search and select the Vision_Journeys Manager custom role you created.
- In the Search Results area, click the Edit icon.
- On the Role Details page, select the Delegation Allowed check box and click Next.
- On the Security Criteria page, in the Public Person area, search and select View All People for the Person Security Profile.
- Click OK.
- Click Review and review the details.
- Click Submit.
Delegate the Custom Role to Megan
- On the home page, click the Me tab.
- Click the Roles and Delegations app.
- In the Role Delegations area, click Add.
- Select the Vision_Journeys Manager custom role and the start date.
- Select Megan to delegate the custom role, and click
Save.
After these steps, Megan can access the Journeys app.
Note: Megan won't receive any journey or task notifications. Notifications will continue to be sent to Pooja. However, Megan can access the journeys and tasks from the Journeys app.
