Create Neonatal Care Absence Types

An absence type needs to be created to enter the absences for the statutory neonatal leaves.

To create a new absence element:

Navigation: My Client Groups > Absences > Absence Definitions > Absence Types
  1. Click Create in the Absence Types page and enter the Effective Date, 'United Kingdom' as the Legislation and 'Generic Absence' as the Pattern' in the Create Absence Type window.
  2. In the Type Attributes tab, enter the required details for the absence type such as the name, Legislative Data Group, and others. Enter the other field values as shown:
    Field Value
    UOM Calendar Days
Legislative Grouping Code UK Neonatal Care
    Partial day rule Not Allowed
Note: Ensure that you have set the absence record maintenance values for enabling employees, manager, and administrator updates as appropriate. Select Qualified Entitlements.
  1. Click the Plans and Reasons tab.
  2. Click Select and Add to attach the plan you created in the previous steps to the absence type
  3. In the Select and Add Plan to Type window, ensure that the Status is 'Active' and the Priority is '1'.
Note: Occupational plans can be added to the same absence type. Ensure that the priority number of the occupational plans is higher than that of the statutory plan. This ensures that the entitlement in the statutory plan is always calculated, irrespective of whether employees are eligible for Occupational plans or not.
  4. In the Display Features tab, and ensure that the appropriate features are enabled, as shown below:
    Field Value
    Open-ended

    Do Not Display

    Qualified entitlements Enabled
  5. Click the Action Items tab.
  6. Click Select and Add to add the manual certifications for stopping payment of the absence to the absence type.
  7. In the Absence Certifications window, select the names of the relevant certifications for the Statutory Neonatal scheme from the list of values, and their corresponding status.
  8. Repeat this step to allocate multiple certifications to the absence type.
  9. Save the details.
