Retrieve AEPN Details

Use this process to retrieve Automatic Enrolment Payroll Notification (AEPN) details for your employees. This is a notification issued by the National Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings Authority (NAERSA) to the employers when an employee is automatically enrolled into the MyFutureFund scheme.

Before you start

Before you can perform MyFutureFund retrieval of Automatic Enrolment Payroll Notification (AEPN) details, you need to have completed these steps:

  • Created a new Payroll Process Configuration or update an existing one to ensure that the parameter name Ireland Revenue control of web service connection Customer control of web service connection has a value equal to 1.
  • Set Up PAE Run Reference by adding values to lookup type
    1. Go to Setup and Maintenance. Search for and select Manage Common Lookups task.
    2. Search for the predefined lookup type ORA_HRX_IE_PAE_RUN_REF. This lookup type is used to identify the payroll event that the process Generate MFF Contribution Submission Details refers to. You need to enter the lookup code with the prefix tax year, for example, 25% for 2025 or 26% for 2026. The configuration type is extensible. This populates the values for the corresponding tax year in the PAE Run Reference parameter for selection.

  • Created an element eligibility for the My Future Fund element.
  • Added the appropriate subclassification to any standard, supplemental or absence earnings elements that needs to be considered as MyFutureFund Pensionable Earnings.
  • Ensure the following:
    • Employer PIT certificate is loaded in UCM.
    • A valid TRU is associated with the specific employer to link to the UCM content with authentication.
    • Employees are created in the NAERSA server.

Here's how to run the flow:

Navigation: My Client Groups > Payroll > Submit a Flow

Here's what to do

  1. To tun this process, provide the scope by the Legislative Data Group for which you want to run this flow.
  2. Select Retrieve AEPN Details flow.
  3. Enter the required parameters to run the process:

    Payroll Statutory Unit

    Select the PSU for which you want to run the process.

    Tax Reporting Unit

    Select the TRU for which you want to run the process.

    Process Configuration Group

    Use a process configuration group to set rules for payroll processes, such as passwords or number of threads. If you don't select a process configuration group, the process uses the parameters in the default group.

    Encryption Select Yes or No as applicable.
  4. Submit the flow.

Results:

The flow starts these tasks in a sequence:
  • Check Revenue Submission Status, which generates a CSV Audit Report Output File that includes AEPN details and a JSON file with the same details.
  • Run Errors and Warnings Report

What to do next

After you've retrieved the employee AEPN details, you can use the Load Employee Data from Legislative File for Ireland process to load AEPN details based on a JSON file or a previously run Retrieve AEPN Details flow. In the File Type parameter, select Automatic Enrolment Participation Notification. The data from the inbound JSON file is used to generate an HCM Data Loader file and update the date into the My Future Fund calculation cards.
