Guidelines for loading offerings using Offering

Use the Offering component of the Course object and HCM Data Loader to load self-paced, instructor-led (ILT), and blended offerings. The course associated with the offering needs to already exist in Oracle Learning.

To verify that the offering loaded, go to My Client Groups > Learning and Development > Learning Catalog. 

Validations

The load process validates that each offering meets these requirements during creation:

  • The PersonId value isn't null, and the person and instructor resource identified by that value exist in the HCM app.
  • The InstructorResourceNumber value exists in Oracle Learning.
  • The OwnedByPersonId value isn't null and the person identified by that value exists in the HCM app.
  • The OfferingNumber value is unique in Oracle Learning.
  • The Title, OfferingType, and CourseId values aren't null.

The load process also validates these requirements:

  • The EffectiveStartDate, OfferingStartDate, OfferingEndDate, and Coordinator values aren't empty or null.
  • The MaximumCapacity value isn't empty or null when the EnableCapacity value is Y.
  • For ILT and blended offerings, the PrimaryLocation value isn't empty or null.
    • For virtual classrooms, set the PrimaryLocationId value to -1.
    • When the classroom isn't predefined, set the PrimaryLocationId value to -2.
  • The FacilitatorType value isn't empty or null when you provide either a PrimaryInstructorId or TrainingSupplierId value.
  • The TrainingSupplierId value isn't empty or null when the FacilitatorType value is ORA_TRNG_VENDOR.
  • The PrimaryInstructorId value isn't empty or null when the FacilitatorType value is ORA_INSTRUCTOR.
  • The person identified by the PersonId or OwnedByPersonId value exists in the HCM app.
  • The course identified by the CourseLearningItemId value exists in Oracle Learning.
  • The questionnaire identified by the QuestionnaireCode value exists in Oracle Learning.
  • A default questionnaire doesn't already exist for the OfferingId value.
  • The PublishStartDate value is before the PublishEndDate value.
  • The offering PublishStartDate value is after the course PublishStartDate value.
  • The MinimumCapacity value is 0 or a positive whole number.
  • The MaximumCapacity value is a positive whole number.
  • The MinimumCapacity value is less than the MaximumCapacity value.
  • The EnableCapacity and EnableWaitList values are Y or N.
  • The AccessPermissionId and TrainingSupplierId values exist in Oracle Learning.
  • The FacilitatorType value is ORA_TRNG_VENDOR or ORA_INSTRUCTOR.
  • The offering has only one evaluation activity. To use the default evaluation, enter -1 for QuestionnaireCode. To use a specific evaluation, enter its questionnaire code.
