Key Points About Advanced Search in the LOVs
Here are some key points to note about advanced search in the LOVs:
-
The More search options link appears only when you enter a search term in the LOV. It doesn't appear when you click the drop-down arrow without entering a search term.
-
After you have selected a specific value in the LOV, the More search options link won't display if you click the drop-down arrow again.
-
If you cancel the advanced search panel drawer, it closes without making a selection and the current workflow remains unchanged.
-
The expected behavior of the advanced search panel drawer for all the workforce structures pages is as follows:
-
If the Effective Start Date of the workforce structure object has been selected, the Effective Date filter chip in the panel drawer defaults to that date, else it defaults to the current date.
-
Status defaults to Active, and only the active objects are shown.
-
The Set defaults to the Set ID associated with the selected Business Unit.
-
Use Advanced Search in the LOVs
Let’s look at an example where you use the advanced search for the Parent Position LOV when you’re creating a new position.
-
Go to My Client Groups > Show More > Positions.
-
Enter the Effective Start Date.
-
In the Parent Position LOV, type a search term.
-
Select the More search options link that’s displayed at the end of the search results.
Note:You’ll see this link only when you type a search term in the LOV. You won’t see the link if you don’t type any search term, or after you have selected a position.
The Search for and select a position panel drawer opens. It’s very similar to the Positions search page.
-
Search for a term in the panel drawer.
The records that match the search term are displayed.
-
Apply additional filters if you want to refine the search results further.
-
Select a row from the search results and click Select.
The business unit and department are automatically populated based on the selected parent position because it’s a create flow.
-
If you don’t want to select anything in the panel drawer, select Cancel to close the drawer.
Now when you select a position, it won’t show you the More search options link.
-
Enter the data in the remaining fields as required and select Submit.
