When you create a rule, you select a template to use rather than a formula. The
template automatically populates the description of all outputs and helps you enter correct
parameter values.

-
Go to .
-
Create a rule.
-
On the Create Rule dialog box, enter a descriptive rule name, and select the
template type and rule template.
-
On the Create Rule page, in the Basic Information section, include a description of
what the rule does.
-
In the Time Card Events that Trigger Rule section, check whether the default values
from the selected template match your rule requirements. The time device and time
submission rule templates don't include this section.
-
In the Rule Parameters section, enter or select values for the parameters from the
selected rule template.
-
In the Outputs section, select values for the outputs from the selected rule
template. The bundled time allocation formula doesn't contain any outputs. You
specify rule outputs in time allocation configurations that you create using the Time
Allocation task.
-
When you're ready, save and close your rule.
Tip: Every time you create a time submission rule, you automatically
create a corresponding rule set because the rule set can have only one
rule.
