How do I get the transaction details for a failed approval rule?
Title and music.
In this video I’ll show you how to generate the transaction details for a failed approval rule. These details are helpful for support when you submit a service request regarding the failed rule.
We’ll follow three steps to get the details for a failed transaction:
We’ll first identify the Transaction ID.
Then we’ll run the Fetch Diagnostic Details test.
Finally, we’ll, open and then download the diagnostic report. You can then include it in your SR for further analysis.
To identify the failed transaction, navigate to the Transaction Console.
Be sure to filter by Failed transactions.
Search on a keyword for the process name for the transaction.
In this example, we’ll search on Person to find the Changed Personal Information transactions.
Click on the transaction that you want to get the details for.
Then copy the Transaction ID. We’ll use this later as a parameter for the diagnostic report.
Let’s navigate to Run Diagnostics Tests found under Settings and Actions.
In order to enter the transaction ID, you have to search for Fetch Transaction.
Add the Fetch Transaction Details to the Run.
Since we haven’t entered any details to fetch, running this report will cause a warning that input values are missing. In order to run the report click the Warning.
Paste the copied Transaction ID in the New Value field.
And click OK to continue.
Enter a unique Run Name and run the report.
Refresh the run status occasionally, until the run has completed.
View the report.
Save this report, and then include it in a Service Request for further analysis of the transaction issue.
