How do I manage compensation budgets?

Start on the Home screen.

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to manage compensation budgets.

Click My Team.

I’m signed in as a manager. I want to look at my workforce compensation plan and make budget allocations.

Click Workforce Compensation.

First, I’ll select the plan with the budget I want to review.

Click the 1 of 18 link.

The plans I’m responsible for appear here.

Click the Annual Compensation Plan 2022 link.

Click the Manage Budgets icon.

I want to manage the Bonus Budget.

Click the Bonus Budget 2022 link.

Highlight Budget Method: All managers

My budget method is all managers, so I can view all of the managers who report directly to me. I can also expand each manager to view all the managers who report to them. I can then allocate budgets to myself and all of my managers below me in the manager hierarchy.

Click to expand the Brown, Julie row.

Click to close the Brown, Julie row.

Click the Actions drop-down list.

The actions available to me vary depending on how the budget worksheet was configured.

Click to close the Actions drop-down list.

I can also view everyone who reports directly to me, so that I can allocate a budget to myself or my direct reports.

In the Direct Reports row click the Worker List icon.

Click the Actions drop-down list.

I can view details for all the managers who report up to me or just my direct reports. I can also export the data to Excel and change their bonus eligibility status. If the budget pool is set up to use worker-level budgeting, I can allocate budgets to each person.

Click to close the Actions drop-down list.

Click Done.

If I look at the audit trail, I can see changes to my budget or a selected manager's budget.

Click the Actions drop-down list and highlight View Audit Trail.

Click to close the Actions drop-down list.

Click the Export icon.

I can make changes to this budget on this page, or I can export the data to Excel and change the data, then upload the revised information to the budget worksheet.

Click to close Export.

I can enter a budget amount or percentage for each manager. I’m going to increase this budget to 9%. When I press TAB, I see the recalculated budget amount.

On the Brown, Julie row, in the Budget Distribution Percentage field, enter 9.

Press TAB.

I can publish budgets to selected managers or to all managers. I can also withdraw previously published budgets if I need to change them. This is my last change for the bonus plan, so I’m ready to publish.

Click the Publish drop-down list and select Publish All Budgets.

Click Submit.

Click OK.

Click Save and Close.

I have the option to enter comments to my managers, who’ll then receive a notification that budgets were published to them. Budgets are now published. At this point, all of my managers can begin allocating compensation to their people. This concludes the Managing Compensation Budgets tutorial. Thanks for watching.
