Mass Hiring Events - Part 2: How do I conduct interviews and shortlist candidates?

In part 2 of our 3-part series on Mass Hiring Events, we’ll look at conducting interviews and shortlisting candidates.

Video fades in to a blank shortlisting form for Atlanta Store2 Hiring Event.

Prior to the day of the event, the interviewers won’t see any candidates on the shortlisting form.

Click the Candidate drop-down list and select Don Smiley.

On the day of the event, once a candidate checks in, they’ll be guided by an event organizer to the right interviewer.

Candidates that have registered and checked in will appear on the shortlisting form, where interviewers can search for and select them.

Interviewers can see the date and time the candidate registered, to make sure they have the right person in case there are multiple candidates with the same name. Once the interviewer selects a candidate, the resume and cover letter the candidate uploaded during registration will appear here. The interviewer can download and review these documents as needed.

The interviewer can then decide whether to shortlist the candidate, add optional comments to capture any detailed feedback, and then submit their responses.

Click the Shortlisted drop-down and select Yes.

In the Comments field, enter Excellent candidate!

Click Submit.

Once feedback for a candidate has been submitted, they’re removed from other interviewers’ lists. The interviewer can also edit the responses and comments for a candidate after they’ve been submitted, if needed.

Click the Edit icon.

Click the Shortlisted drop-down list and select No.

In the Comment section, enter But we can hire him next year.

Click Save.

Click Close.

If interviewers close the shortlisting form, they can come back to it through the link in the notifications. When they relaunch the shortlisting form, they can pick up where they left off - with all the previous data they submitted intact. This concludes part 2 of our 3-part series on Mass Hiring Events. Be sure to watch part 3, where we’ll look at reviewing shortlisted candidates and moving them to the offer stage.

Thanks for watching.
