Address Validation for the US

Use the Manage Features by Country or Territory task to control US-specific programmatic validation rules and address validation for your organization.

Your person residence and work address data must be validated to the street level if you have:

• Switched the product extension from Payroll Interface or Human Resources or None to Payroll

• Made changes to addresses while address validation wasn't turned on

• Never activated address line 1 or street-level validation

Oracle offers address search and validation down to the street level. You must enable the feature by setting the validation method.

Validation method	What it provides
Address verification without search	Provides address validation to the street level, which can include validation of premise unit numbers, such as apartments, suites, and so on. Doesn't provide address search on flows related to HR and address maintenance, such as Hire an Employee. Note: A Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) compliant version of address search functionality isn't available. If you're an Oracle Government Cloud Services customer and would like to use a FedRAMP-compliant version of Address verification without search to access address verification down to the street level, log a service request (SR) with Oracle and prefix your SR with "USOPTE".
Full address verification service	Includes address validation down to the street level, which can include validation up to premise unit numbers, such as apartments, suites, and so on. Provides address search on flows related to HR and address maintenance, such as Hire an Employee.

These address validation methods use the ORA_HCM geographies file, which you import through the Load Geographies process.

To set the validation method:

1. Start the Features by Country or Territory task.

2. Locate the United States legislation.

3. Expand United States.

4. Select your address validation method.

   Payroll license implementations must verify worker residence and work addresses to the street level to ensure accurate local tax withholdings.

5. Click Save.
