How do I configure the number of rows for W-2 Box 14?

By default, the Form W-2 and W-2c PDF templates support up to four rows for Box 14.

You can set the maximum number of rows at the payroll statutory unit (PSU) and tax reporting unit (TRU) levels. A setting on the TRU overrides the setting on the PSU.

To set this value:

  1. Start the Manage Legal Entity HCM Information task to set it at the PSU level.

Use the Manage Legal Reporting Unit HCM Information to set it at the TRU level.

Settings at the TRU level override those on the PSU.

  2. Search for and select the PSU or TRU.

  3. Click Federal in either Payroll Statutory Unit or Tax Reporting Unit.
  4. In Federal Year-End Reporting Rules, set the maximum rows.

You can select a value between 2 and 9.

    Note:

If you specify more than four, you must manually update the W-2 and W-2c PDF templates to support the additional rows.

  5. Save your work.
