Overview of Value Lists
A value list, also known as an enumeration, is a list of potential values that can be used to populate input controls on interview screens. A value list can be used by multiple attributes in a project, or re-used across different projects, where you have more than one input control that needs to use the same list of values. (The alternative to using a value list is to manually create and maintain the list of values for each input attribute which needs to use it. For more information on this method, see Manually Specify the Values for an Input.)
Value lists can be manually created, imported from another project, or provided by a B2C Service connection or connector framework web service connection. It is also possible to create cascading selections using hierarchical lists of values.
The steps involved in using a value list are:
- Set up a value list in the project.
- Associate the value list with an attribute collected on a screen.
Tip: Value lists are demonstrated in the B2C Service Simple, EnergySaver, Insurance Picker, Loan Advisor, myBenefits, PathFinder, Student Benefits and Travel Compensation example policy models installed with Policy Modeling.
