Importing campaigns
Note: When importing campaigns, the Start Date and End Date will not be updated if the campaign is in Active, Scheduled, or Completed status. Start Date and End Date will only be updated if the campaign is in Draft status.
There are 4 steps to importing a campaign:
Step 1: Data Source
- In Eloqua, click
> Campaigns.
- On the top left, click
> Import Campaigns.
- In the Data Source tab, give the import a name and description under Upload Details.
- Configure the following options under Specify New Settings:

Click Next.
Step 2: Upload Data Source
- Click Choose File and select the data file to upload.
- Click Upload and Preview Data.
- (Optional) Under Transferred Data, you can toggle between Preview Data and Preview uploaded data to see the data in its original file format or formatted by Eloqua, respectively.
- Click Next.
Step 3: Field Mapping

Under Unique Match, select an Eloqua Campaign field as a unique identifier from the Eloqua Campaign Field drop-down menu.

(Optional) Check the Perform a case-sensitive match box if you want Eloqua to only match fields for the unique identifier if the fields also share case.

Under Field Mappings, fill in either the default Auto-map Field table or the Advanced Option table:

Auto-map Field Table: Indicate into which Target Field should be mapped to each Source Field.

Advanced Options Table: Indicate into which Target Field should be mapped to each Source Field. You can also indicate for which fields you'd like to Update when new value is blank or Overwrite only if target is blank. With the Advanced Options table, you can also optionally enable the All Uploaded Date values are formatted as DD/MM/YYYY option.

Click Next.
Step 4: Summary

Under Upload Settings, review the table to ensure you have selected the correct settings for your data.

Under Notification Settings, indicate to which email you would like to receive notifications.

Under After Uploading, select either Run once using these settings or Save these settings for reuse. If you select Save these settings for reuse, add a Saved Upload Setting name.

Click Finish.
