Creating form templates

You can create custom form templates for your marketing users. Using templates can help ensure that necessary field and processing has been configured and form guidelines are followed.

Note: You can only change and manage templates using the Redwood experience. You must have the Manage Templates action permission to change and manage templates.

Before you begin:

  • You can manage access to the template using asset permissions.
  • To manage templates, you must have the Manage Templates action permission and asset permissions for the asset. Learn more about action permissions and asset permissions.

To create a template:

  1. Navigate to AssetsAn image of the Assets icon, which is represented by a black pencil., then click Forms.
  2. Open the form or create a new one.
  3. Setup the form and form processing.
  4. Click File > Save as Template.
  5. If prompted, complete the Save as Template dialog with information about the template.
    • To link to a web page that provides more information about the template, complete the Text to Display for Link and URL for the Link fields. When users select the template, they can follow the link to find out more.

After you save the template, the original form remains open. To open the template again to make changes, you must turn on the Redwood experience.

Note: To manage templates, you must have the Manage Templates action permission and asset permissions for the asset. Learn more about action permissions and asset permissions.

To change a template:

  1. Turn on the Redwood experience.

  2. Navigate to AssetsAn image of the Assets icon, which is represented by a black pencil., then click Forms.
  3. Click Templates from the page selector and find your template.
  4. Open the template to make your changes. To rename or delete the template, click the Actions menu and choose the option.
