Setting permissions for assets

Permissions in Oracle Eloqua help you control who can view, edit, or manage various assets (such as emails, forms, and landing pages). By default, user permissions are determined by their assigned security group, which defines what actions members of the group can perform across the platform. If you are a member of multiple security groups, the cumulative permissions are assigned to the asset.

Overriding default access rights

While most access is managed at the security group level, Oracle Eloqua lets you override these defaults on individual assets. This means you can grant or restrict access to specific emails, forms, or landing pages even if the general security group permission is different.

You must have the Set Security permission can change the permissions for individual assets.

Note: Administrators manage the default asset permissions assigned to assets using security groups. SMS codes also have asset permissions. Learn more about asset permissions for SMS codes.

Understanding access levels

When customizing access rights for an individual asset, you can assign the following levels:

  • View: Allows for searching for and viewing the asset.
  • Edit: Allows for changing the asset.
  • Delete: Allows for deleting the asset.
  • Set Security: Allows for changing the permissions for the asset.

Assigning more restrictive access at the object level can help you better manage sensitive or high-impact assets within your organization.

To set permissions for assets:

  1. Navigate to the asset you want to update.

  2. Open the permission settings. This might be in the menu or on the toolbar.
