Adding a site action

Important: This topic applies only to account administrators.

Site actions are metrics in Oracle Maxymiser that allow you to track how visitors interact with your campaign. You can reuse site actions across all campaigns on your site. For an introduction to actions and action types, see actions and action attributes.

Learn more: To find out how to use site actions in individual campaigns, see Adding an action to a campaign.

To create a site action:

  1. On the Site Settings page, click + Add Action.

  2. Complete the fields on the Add Action page.

    1. Action Name: Type a name.
    2. Action Type: Select an option from the drop-down list.

If you select Sales amount, specify values for Currency and Amount Value Multiplier. The Amount Value Multiplier box helps to avoid fractions in the action value when you map the action. For example, if the action value you want to capture is 538 and you want to view the result in campaign reports as 5.38, set the amount value multiplier to 0.01 to make the action value equal to 538.

    3. Description: Type a description for the action.
    4. Filter Action by Referrer URL: Specifies that Oracle Maxymiser will track only the actions of visitors coming from the specified URLs. For example, http://conversioninteriors.com/*.
    5. Filter Action by URL Parameter: Specifies that Oracle Maxymiser will track only the actions of visitors on a page with the specified URL mask. For example, *?parameter=value*.
  3. Click Save Action.

You can now use the action in campaigns, within a script, or map the action to the page where the action will be triggered.
