After your account has been enabled for the Multilingual Collaboration feature, you must configure the translation settings. These settings determine which languages will be available for Responsys users to request campaign message translation.

For more information about translation using Responsys, see Multilingual collaboration.

Before you begin: Decide which languages your organization will support, and what you want to use for each language's code. If your organization does not have a standard for language codes already defined, we recommend using codes that conform to a recognized international standard.

To define a language for multilingual campaigns:

  1. From the side navigation bar, select Account . (If you do not see the side navigation bar, click the Menu button (aka Hamburger menu) icon.)
  2. Select Campaign settings, then select Translation settings.
  3. On the Translation settings page, click Add language.
  4. For each language your account plans to support:
    1. In the Language name column, enter the name of the language. This is how the language is displayed for Responsys users.
    2. In the Code column, enter a language code that is meaningful to your organization. For example, if you added Japanese, your organization may want the language code to be ja-JP.

The codes are used as a "match" value in personalization. When a campaign is personalized, the recipient will be sent the campaign in their preferred language if the message is available in that language. Otherwise, recipients receive the campaign message in its original language.

  5. When you have finished adding languages, click Save.
