Communication Between a Collaboration Process and Program

Important: This feature is available only if Distributed Content Collaboration is enabled for your account.

You can launch a published collaboration process from within a program. Using an event switch in a program that listens to the same Collaboration event as used in the process, the program flow can be controlled by the process.

For information about Distributed Content Collaboration, see Distributed Content Collaboration - Overview.

Before you begin, you need to:

How it works

Use the Start Collaboration activity in the program to initiate a published collaboration process. After you publish a program and the enactments reach the Start Collaboration stage, the collaboration process is initiated and tasks based on the process are created.

If a communication is expected back from the process to the program, use the Raise Event step in the process with the required Collaboration Event.

After you publish the program, email notifications are sent and tasks are assigned to authorized users in the selected organizational units.
