Secondary Account - Deduping a Contact List

Important: This feature is only available if it is enabled for your account.

Automatic Failover for Transactional Messages (AFTM) requires both the primary and secondary account to know about all possible transactional message recipients. To accomplish this, the primary account’s designated Profile List and the secondary account must be synchronized. The synchronization process allows the secondary account to accept new recipients when it is used for message sends, while ensuring that the primary account can send a message to the same newly acquired recipient when it returns as the main sending account.

Use the Dedupe Contact List page to designate the primary account’s Profile List (contact list) to synchronize and to designate the columns within the Profile List to use for determining a unique recipient during the synchronization process.

To dedupe a contact list:

  1. From the side navigation bar, select Account . (If you do not see the side navigation bar, click the Menu button (aka Hamburger menu) icon.)
  2. Select Secondary AFTM account setting, and then select Dedupe contact list. (Not seeing this choice? Refer to the Account management changes topic.)
  3. From the Dedupe Contact List page, select the primary account Profile List to synchronize from the List to Upload to AFTM list.
  4. Select the field for matching duplicate entries from the Fields to match for duplicate entries list. You can match on one of the following:
    • CUSTOMER_ID_
    • EMAIL_ADDRESS_
    • CUSTOMER_ID_ and EMAIL_ADDRESS_
  5. In Notification email, type the email address to receive a notification when the dedupe contact list setup is complete.
  6. Click Submit.

After the dedupe setup is complete, the specified email address will receive a notification with instructions for further action.

When you access this page after the submitting the request, it will be read only and will show the following information:

  • List name: The primary account Profile List that you chose to synchronize with the secondary account's Profile List.
  • Field to Match for Duplicate Entries: Shows the field name used for the unique constraint key for your Profile List.
  • Notification Email Address: Shows the email address that will receive notifications pertaining to the process.
