Define Email Domain Rules

The information on the Email domain rules page is used when campaign messages are being sent out.

You can specify domains to which campaign messages must not be sent at all, domains to which HTML-format campaign messages can be sent with confidence that recipients will be able to read them, and domains to which only plain-text campaign messages should be sent because recipients cannot read messages in any other format.

In any of these text boxes you can enter one or more domain names, such as xyz.com or zyx.com,wvu.com.

Note: If you enter xyz.com, any address at xyz.com or a subdomain (such as pat@mail.xyz.com) will be treated as a matching address, but an address like jean@abcxyz.com will not. It also doesn’t matter whether you use uppercase or lowercase letters. For internal processing, Oracle Responsys converts domain names to lowercase. Additionally, only unique, nonempty domains are used.

To define the email domain rules for your account:

  1. From the side navigation bar, select Account . (If you do not see the side navigation bar, click the Menu button (aka Hamburger menu) icon.)
  2. Select Campaign management, and then select Email domain rules. (Not seeing this choice? Refer to the Account management changes topic.)
  3. Add or remove domains from the following sections:
    • Email domains to avoid altogether
    • HTML-capable email domains
    • Text-only email domains

In any of these text boxes you can enter one or more domain names, such as xyz.com or zyx.com,wvu.com.

Note: If you enter xyz.com, any address at xyz.com or a subdomain (such as pat@mail.xyz.com) will be treated as a matching address, but an address like jean@abcxyz.com will not. It also doesn’t matter whether you use uppercase or lowercase letters. For internal processing, Oracle Responsys converts domain names to lowercase. Additionally, only unique, nonempty domains are used.

  4. When finished, click Save.
