Sending Oracle Responsys data to Oracle Infinity

Important: This feature is currently released under our Controlled Availability program. To request access to this feature, please log in to My Oracle Support and create a service request.

The data integration for Oracle Responsys and Oracle Infinity enables customers who have both products to bring near real-time Responsys customer interaction data into Infinity. Enhancing the Infinity event data in this way enables you to better analyze and explore customer behavior across all channels.

Ways to use Responsys data in Infinity

You can:

  • View advanced, audience-centric analytics with Infinity Analytics: Gain insights into customers' behavior patterns by seeing how Responsys customer event data relates to other customer interaction data in the Infinity data lake, in near-real time. For example, for message opens during the last few hours, what is the distribution across various geographies? Or for people who viewed a particular product page on the web, did they open an email related to the product? These insights can help you develop more effective marketing interactions with your customers.
  • Share data with other integrated systems through Infinity Streams: You can send Responsys customer event data rapidly to other applications integrated with Infinity.

How the data integration works

After Oracle Support enables your account for the Infinity Data Integration feature and your Responsys Account Administrator turns on the data flow, Responsys sends customer interaction data in real-time to Infinity. This customer interaction data is for all channels enabled for the Responsys account. The data is stored along with other event data that Infinity collects.

What data does Responsys send to Infinity?

By default, Responsys sends data for attributes corresponding to the following channels and events:

  • Email: opened, clicked, and conversion
  • Form: submit/view
  • SMS: clicked and conversion
  • Push: opened, clicked, conversion, button clicked, and uninstall
  • Web Push: opened, button clicked, conversion, display, and closed

The data attributes are similar to those exported in Responsys Contact Event Data feeds. See Contact Event Data (CED) for more details about the attributes.

Note: Submit a service request to My Oracle Support if you prefer to have a subset of the above sent to Infinity.

How soon can I expect to see Responsys event data in Infinity?

The Responsys event data is available in Infinity less than a minute after Responsys captures the customer interaction event.

How are Responsys event data and Infinity event data correlated for the same customer?

Infinity uses email address, mobile number, or other unique identifiers sent by Responsys to correlate event data that map to the same customer identifiers. Infinity establishes and maintains the mappings between Infinity identifiers and Responsys identifiers. If the event data captured by Responsys and other data in the Infinity data lake have the same identifier, you can correlate the data.

Is this feature related to other integrations between Responsys and Infinity?

No, this integration sends data from Responsys to Infinity. It is independent of the integration in which real-time Infinity events trigger Responsys orchestration programs, for example, shopping cart abandonment.
