Collaboration Process Steps

Each collaboration process begins with a Start step and ends with one or more End steps, and includes steps such as contribute content, approve content, and timers. Learn more about step properties.

All available steps are described below.

Tip: You can find pre-seeded sample processes in your Responsys account's System folder.

Start
Starts the process flow.

Create Campaign
Specifies a base campaign or variable to use for the process. When a marketer performs his task, the system creates a copy of the base campaign and the marketer works on that copy.

Configure Schedule
Configure the schedule for launching the copied campaign.

Configure Targeting
Select the audience/filter which marketers can select for the copied campaign.

Contribute Content
Creates a task for users with the Content Contributor role to contribute content to a campaign. Contributed content is stored in the Drafts folder, marked with the organizational unit associated with the task.

Tip: You can find the sample Contribute Content process in your Responsys account's System folder.

Approve Content
Creates a task for users with the Content Approver role to approve contributed content.

Tip: You can find the sample Contribute Content With Approval process in your Responsys account's System folder.

Send Proof & Approve
Creates a task for users with the Express Email Campaign Manager role to initiate a proof email and to record their approval or rejection of that proof email.

Tip: You can find the sample Express Campaign with Send Proof Sample process in your Responsys account's System folder.

Publish Campaign Content
Makes contributed content available for campaign launches. After content is published, it is moved to the Published folder and will be available for all subsequent campaign launches.

Launch Campaign
Enables organizational unit-specific campaign to be launched after content is submitted and approved. The campaign will be launched to recipients according to your Targeting by Organization policy, using organizational unit-specific content.

Tip: You can find the sample Contribute Content Direct Launch process in your Responsys account's System folder.

Raise Event
Raises an event to be used in a program. This step provides the connection between the collaboration process and Program.

For example, a program generates a list of enactments and is listening for a Collaboration event at the Event Switch. After the content in the collaboration process is published, the Collaboration event is raised, and Program releases the enactments.

This step can use either a variable in the process or a collaboration event specified at design time.

Decision Node
Takes a specific path based on conditions you define. For example, if campaign content is approved, publish the content.

Target Timer
Waits until a specified date and time. For example, to begin the process activities on a specific day regardless of when the process is launched, use a Target Timer after the Start step.

This step will give users the ability to hold the collaboration workflow until a predetermined calendar date/time. There are many use cases for this step –

End
Ends the process flow.
