Enable Direct TBA

Double the speed of your integration with an optimized link between OpenAir and NetSuite.

Direct token-based authentication (TBA) utilizes a more robust communication channel between OpenAir and NetSuite to deliver faster integration runs. It also simplifies the login credentials administration.

To enable the feature for your account, configure NetSuite for direct TBA, and enable the feature in the NetSuite integration administration form in OpenAir.

To configure NetSuite for direct TBA:

  1. In NetSuite, go to Customization > SuiteBundler > Search & Install bundles > List.

  2. Update the NetSuite OpenAir SRP Integration bundle to the latest version.

  3. Go to Setup > Users/Roles > Access Tokens > New.

  4. Set the Application Name to Internal NS Application OPENAIR.

  5. Select the User — This is the Name on the employee record for the TBA user you chose.

  6. Select the Role — You can use the NSOA Connector role created by the NetSuite OpenAir SRP Integration bundle, or the custom role you created for the integration. See Creating a Custom Role for the Integration in NetSuite.

    Important:

You should not associate the access token with the Administrator role. Some role permissions may have an undesirable effect on the integration. For example, OpenAir transactions may be posted to a closed accounting period in NetSuite if the “Override Period Restrictions” role permission is enabled for the TBA user.

  7. NetSuite generates the Token Name automatically. You can change the token name or keep the default value.

  8. Click Save.

NetSuite generates the User Token ID and User Token Secret and displays the information on the Access Token page.

  9. Copy the User Token ID and User Token Secret and store the information in a safe place. You will need to enter this information when configuring OpenAir for the integration.

    Important:

The User Token ID and User Token Secret are displayed only one time. You will not be able to retrieve this information after you close, refresh or leave the page. You can generate a new User Token ID and User Token Secret at any time. To generate a new User Token ID and User Token Secret, revoke the existing token and create a new one.

To enable direct TBA in OpenAir

  1. In OpenAir, go to Administration > NetSuite Connector.

  2. Click the Tips button, then click NetSuite Connector Administration. The OpenAir NetSuite Connector administration form appears.

  3. Check the Enable Direct TBA box under the Other features section.

  4. Click Save.

  5. On the NetSuite Connector Login Credentials screen, enter the TBA User Token ID and TBA User Token secret that you obtained when configuring NetSuite for direct TBA. Note that the Application ID, TBA Consumer Key, and TBA Consumer Secret fields no longer show on the Login credentials form.
