Connect QuickStart to Rippling
Connect QuickStart to Rippling by saving a Rippling authentication token and mapping the accounts used for payroll journal entries. The token is validated before the settings are saved.
Before you begin
- Rippling Integration must be enabled for the account.
- You need access to accounting preferences.
- Create a Rippling account if you do not already have one. The Integration settings page provides a link to Rippling registration.
- Obtain a valid Rippling authentication token with the
companies.readscope and sufficient Rippling permissions. - Create active, non-summary accounts for each mapping. Expense mappings require Expense accounts, payable mappings require Other current liability accounts, and payroll funding requires a Bank account.
Connect to Rippling
- Open Menu > Accounting > Settings > Rippling Integration.
- Select Integration settings.
- In Authentication token, enter the Rippling token.
- Select Save.
- Confirm that QuickStart reports that the token was validated. If validation fails, correct the token, its scope, or its Rippling permissions before continuing.
QuickStart stores the token for the integration and clears it from the page. The saved token is not displayed again. A token must provide access to exactly one Rippling company, and that company must match the existing QuickStart connection.
Map payroll accounts
- On Integration settings, find Payroll account mapping.
- Select an expense account for Gross pay.
- Select payable accounts for Employee taxes, Employee deductions, and Garnishments.
- Select an expense account and a payable account for Employer taxes.
- Select an expense account and a payable account for Employer contributions.
- Select a payable account for Net pay.
- Select a bank account for Payroll funding.
- Select Save account mapping.
All ten mappings are required. QuickStart uses them for the payroll journal entries it creates. Review the mappings before requesting payroll processing when your accounting configuration has changed.
