Choose a passkey
Choose a passkey that is supported by your browser, operating system, and device and that only you can unlock. A passkey can use authentication on one device, synchronize through a supported credential provider, or reside on an external security key. The choice determines where you can use the passkey to sign in to QuickStart.
Passkeys commonly include:
- A platform passkey protected by the fingerprint, face recognition, or PIN on a computer or mobile device.
- A passkey synchronized by a supported credential provider across your devices.
- An external security key that supports passkeys.
An external authenticator can be used to sign in on different workstations. A platform authenticator may be limited to the device or credential provider where it was created.
Choose a passkey that only you can unlock. Do not add a shared device unless its authentication profile and stored passkey are private to you.
