Choose where a segment applies

Use the Applies to step of the segment wizard to control where users can enter a segment value. Choose either Transaction header or Transaction line. These application levels are mutually exclusive, so one segment cannot be available at both levels. Your choice also determines which source records and workflow transactions are available for selection.

• Select Transaction header to apply one value to an entire transaction. The segment appears in the transaction’s Segments section. Under All source records, this level provides vendor, customer, and person records.

• Select Transaction line to apply values to individual item or expense lines. Under All source records, this level provides item and expense category records.

• Under All transactions in workflows, select individual transaction types or a workflow group. The available transactions change with the selected application level.
