How are outbound lead times measured?

The Outbound lead time Home page metric measures the days from a sales order’s creation date to its last item fulfillment. QuickStart averages that duration for fulfilled orders over the last 12 weeks and groups the chart by order-creation week alongside counts and values for open and fulfilled orders.

For fulfilled orders, QuickStart calculates each fulfillment time in days and averages those values. The main metric shows the average for the last 12 weeks. The chart groups sales orders by the week in which they were created and shows the average lead time together with the values and counts of open and fulfilled orders.

The insight compares the average lead time for the last 12 weeks with the longer historical period shown as the last 12 months. It reports the rounded difference in days, not a month-over-month ratio. If there are no fulfilled orders in the current 12-week period, QuickStart does not display the comparison insight.

Open orders contribute to the open-order count and value, but they do not have a completed fulfillment time. Orders outside the periods used by the metric are excluded from the displayed calculations.
