Create inventory transfers

Create an inventory transfer to move inventory between two locations without changing the company’s total quantity on hand. Open Menu > Products and services > Manage inventory.

Before you begin

You need an active inventory item and at least two active inventory locations. Create any missing operating location under Menu > Administration > QuickStart settings > Company structure > Operating locations. The source location must have enough available quantity. If it does not, create an inventory adjustment or receive a purchase order before transferring it.

Create an inventory transfer

1. Open Menu > Products and services > Manage inventory.
2. In Inventory transfers, select Create new. You can also open Inventory transfers and select Create inventory transfer.
3. Confirm the Date.
4. Select the source in From inventory location and the destination in To inventory location.
5. Optionally enter a Memo.
6. In Items, select Add item.
7. Select the Item, enter Quantity transferred, and select Apply.
8. Add and apply any other items being moved.
9. Select Submit.

The source location decreases by the transferred quantity and the destination location increases by the same quantity. The transfer appears in Manage inventory > Inventory transfers.
