Name a segment

The segment name is the business label shown to users on records, transactions, and reports where the segment applies. Enter a unique, concise name in the first step of the segment wizard to distinguish the classification from existing segments; unlike the permanent segment ID, the name can be changed later.

When creating a segment, enter a unique value in Segment name on the first step. Use a concise business term that distinguishes the segment from existing classifications. For a department classification, you can name the segment Department; for a class classification, you can name it Class. These are segment names, not separate segment types. The name can be changed later by editing the segment.
