Enabling Auto-Calculate Sampling Summary Fields

You can enable or disable automatic calculation to control whether sampling summary fields in the Quality Management tablet are calculated automatically or entered manually. Enabling auto-calculation for sampling summary fields reduces manual data entry, minimizes human error, and increase inspection process efficiency.

On the QM Parameters record, check the Auto-Calculate Sampling Summary Fields box to enable automatic calculation. By default, this box is unchecked.

• If you check the box, the system automatically evaluates your sample data and populates the values in the sample inspected and defect count fields.

• If you don't check the box, you must calculate and enter the values manually in the sampling summary fields.

Note:

Automatic calculation doesn't apply to sampling summary fields with a Boolean data type such as True/False.

To enable auto-calculation of sampling summary fields:

1. Go to Quality > Preferences > Parameters > New.

2. In Custom Form field, select either the Custom QM Dynamic QM Parameters Form or the Standard QM Parameters Form.

3. In the Key field, select the Auto-Calculate Sampling Summary Fields parameter.

4. Check the Auto-Calculate Sampling Summary Fields box.

5. (Optional) Check the Disable Sampling Summary Fields box to lock the sampling summary fields and prevent editing in the Quality Management tablet.

   Note:

   This field is enabled only when the Auto-Calculate Sampling Summary Fields box is checked.

6. Click Save.
