Categorizing Substitution Variables in Profitability and Cost Management Sync

You can organize the substitution variables into categories.

To categorize substitution variables:

Go to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Record Types.
Click List for the NSPC | Substitution Variable record type.
Click New NSPC | Substitution Variable.
In the Name field, paste the name of a substitution variable that you copied from the Other subtab at NetSuite EPM > Profitability and Cost Management > Substitution Variables.

The value must match exactly, including uppercase and lowercase letters.

Important:
To display a substitution variable under the Other subtab, you first need to create it in your Profitability and Cost Management.
In the Description field, enter a description to help you identify this substitution variable in NetSuite.
From the Category list, select a category for this substitution variable. To create a custom category, select New and complete the following steps:
1. In the Name field, enter a name for your custom category.
2. Click Save.
3. Select the created custom category from the Category list.

(Optional) From the Auto-Update Action list, select an option for automatic updates to substitution variables values. For a full description of this feature, see Enabling Automatic Updates to Substitution Variable Values in Profitability and Cost Management Sync.
Click Save.

This moves the substitution variable to the appropriate subtab at NetSuite EPM > Profitability and Cost Management > Substitution Variables.
