Mapping Bank Imports to Customers

The Customer Memo Mapping subtab lets you create customer memo mappings. A memo is text, typically the customer's name, from the Moneytree portal, in the bank account transaction list. Memo text is usually in Japanese, though it can also be in English.

After you define a customer memo, matching Moneytree bank imports display the customer on the Automated Cash Application page (Transactions > Bank > Automated Cash Application). For more information, see Automated Cash Application. If you do not specify customer memo mappings in Japan Bank Feeds, the Customer field will be blank on the Automated Cash Application page.

After you select a bank account on the Customer Memo Mapping subtab, the Add Customer Mapping button becomes available. When you add a memo value for a customer, matching imported transactions are mapped to that customer.

To add customer memo mappings:

  1. Go to Japan Bank Feeds page (Transactions > Bank > Japan Bank Feeds).

  2. On the Japan Bank Feeds page, click the Customer Memo Mapping subtab.

  3. In the Bank Account field, select the bank account used for the transactions you want to map.

  4. Click Add Customer Mapping.

  5. In the Add Customer Mapping window, enter the following information:

    • Customer - Select the customer associated with transactions for the selected bank account.

    • Memo - Enter the text associated with the customer, such as the customer's name.

You can obtain the text to enter in the Memo field from the Moneytree portal, in the list of transactions of the bank account. Memo text is usually in Japanese, though it can also be in English.

  6. Click Save.

The customer memo mapping appears in the table.

You can add multiple memo values for a customer.

In the Actions column, use the appropriate link to edit or delete a customer mapping or memo value.

To add or update customer memo mappings in bulk, use the standard NetSuite CSV import. For more information, see Importing CSV Files with the Import Assistant.

Note:

When you import customer memos using the Import Assistant, check the Run Server SuiteScript and Trigger Workflows box in the Import Options step. This option is required so imported mappings go through Customer Memo Mapping validation in Japan Bank Feeds. If you do not check this box, duplicate memos can be imported and saved without validation.
