Exporting the Germany Intrastat Report

To use the Intrastat Reporting feature, the International Tax Reports SuiteApp must be installed in your NetSuite account. For more information, see International Tax Reports.

The International Tax Reports SuiteApp lets you export Intrastat reports in a format acceptable for upload to the tax agency website. Starting January 1, 2022, the German government no longer accepts submission of file reports in ASCII format beyond 2021. However, the Export to ASCII button is still available when viewing older reports.

To export the Germany Intrastat report:

  1. Generate the Germany Intrastat report. See Generating the Germany Intrastat Report.

  2. Click the Export to CSV button to generate a CSV file of the report.

    Note:

When asked to open or save a CSV file, click Save File. Opening the file in Microsoft Excel causes the format to change. Save the file first, and then if you want to open it, use a text editor such as Notepad. The CSV report can be imported and sent into the "Form declaration for intra-Community trade statistics" or into the "Form declaration by third parties for intra-Community trade statistics" on IDEV.

For more details about generating and exporting EU Intrastat Reports, see Electronic Filing of Intrastat Reports.
