Mapping Actuals to the Work Breakdown Structure
The WBS supports two ways of matching actuals to individual lines. If you mark a transaction line or time with a task, you can display them on the WBS line with the selected task. You can also use activity codes in the same way. If matching actuals by the task field fails, NetSuite matches actuals by activity codes. You can only add one task or activity code to each line.
NetSuite first matches actuals to a WBS line by Project Task. If it cannot match by Project Task, NetSuite matches actuals by Activity Code. Therefore, an actual with a Project Task but no Activity Code appears on the matching WBS line but does not appear in reports by Activity Code. Actual cost amounts in the WBS exclude tax. When you compare WBS amounts with report amounts in a subsidiary context, the amounts can also differ because the WBS uses the project exchange rate and the report uses the consolidated exchange rate.
If you don't define tasks or activity codes, all actuals display on the Unmatched Actuals line.
