Selecting Approval Unit Hierarchy Scenario and Version

To select the approval unit hierarchy scenario and version:

  1. Click the Navigator icon Navigator icon, and then under Workflow, click Manage Approvals.
  2. In Scenario, select a scenario.
  3. In Version, select a version.
  4. Click Go to display the approval unit hierarchy defined for the selected scenario and version.

    Two panes are displayed on the Manage Approvals page. The upper pane shows a chart or hierarchy based on the View option you select in the upper right corner of the pane (Process Status, Level Status, Group Status, or Tree View). There is a toggle to collapse and expand the upper pane in the lower right corner of the view pane.

    The lower pane displays the hierarchy details:

    • Approval Unit

    • Plan Cycle (Tree View only), which displays whether the approval unit is started and if it's included in the budget process.

    • Approvals Status, for example, 1st Pass.

    • Sub-Status, which tracks failures that occur while performing actions on the approval unit. Typically, failures can include lack of security access, validation rule failures, or other system failures that prevent the action from being completed successfully.

    • Current Owner

    • Location

    • Total Value

    • In Path, click Potential Promotional Path icon to view the potential promotional path.

    • Click Details to display approval unit details and add or edit approval unit annotations.

  5. Optional: If you own approval units for this hierarchy, click Actions, and then Display My Approval Units to select them.
