About Entering Data

This topic gives you some tips on entering and saving data.

  • Your administrator can set up a form so that when you move out of a cell, your changes are automatically saved, with no prompt or message. Cell values are totaled and the affected cells are displayed with a green background.

  • In forms with drop-down member selectors enabled on row dimensions, you can directly choose a member from the drop-down list and enter data for that member. Depending on how the drop-down member selector was configured, you may be able to add data to member rows that would have otherwise been suppressed.

  • If the structure of the form hasn't changed since you started working in it, when you click Save, your changed or new data is instantly saved.

  • To revert to the data on the form before you changed it, click Refresh.

  • If you're using a non-Redwood Experience theme on your desktop, right-clicking in forms (rows, columns, POV, or cells), displays the same options as the Actions menu. If Redwood Experience is enabled, right-clicking in forms displays more forms-specific options than the Actions menu.

Note:

Use the business process interface to navigate instead of your browser's interface. Using Refresh, Forward, and Back in your browser can cause instability. If this happens, log off and then log back on.
