How Elastic Search Works in the Requisition Search

My Requisitions page on the Responsive Self Service Procurement application shows the requisitions and lines created by you. By default, these are listed in the descending order of the creation date most recently created being at the top.

You can use the elastic-based smart search that supports searchable attributes across requisition headers, lines, and distributions with built-in fuzzy matching. This provides a powerful search experience with more potential matches. You can narrow search results down progressively by using additional keywords.

When you use the search box, the application generates automatic suggestions based on these parameters:

  • Your recently searched keywords. These suggestions are indicated by a clock icon.
  • The requisition data. These suggestions are indicated by a magnifying glass icon.

A single search will search across requisition headers, lines, and distributions and returns matching requisitions and lines, excluding lines in Split or Replaced status. Searchable attributes are:

  • Header: Requisition Number and Requisition Description.
  • Line: Item Number, Item Description, Purchasing Category, Manufacturer, Manufacturer Part Number, Supplier, Supplier Item Number, Purchase Order Number, Transfer Order Number, Requester Name, Internal Deliver-to Location Name, and Deliver-to Address for One-time Locations.
  • Distribution: Project Name, Project Number, and Cost Center.
Note: The application can display up to 10,000 requisition lines when you search requisitions.
