Audit for Project Management Objects

Track the changes made to business objects by leveraging an audit mechanism that provides details about the updates (who made the updates, what was changed, and when) made to them. In Project Management, following objects are available for auditing.

Objects available for auditing

Business Objects Benefits of Auditing
Rate Schedules
Compare the changes made to the costing, billing, and planning rate schedules. These include:
  • Hourly cost rates for people, jobs, and nonlabor resources
  • Rates and markups for labor and nonlabor expenditures
  • Rates for financial planning
Rates Compare the old and new values for rates and markup percentages if your business process involves updating existing values instead of ending them and creating new rates and markups. Additionally, you can track when and who curtailed or extended the duration of existing rates and markup percentages.
Project Track changes to the project settings such as the project or task owning organizations, that directly impact changes in costing and revenue distribution accounting. Also, view changes to the important attributes like Project Name, Project Number, Project Status, and Project Dates.

Set Up Audit Policies

Application implementation consultants having the Manage Audit Policies privilege, under the Audit Management Duty, can configure audit policies using the Setup and Maintenance work area.

  2. On the Manage Audit Policies page, in the Oracle Fusion Applications section, confirm that Audit Level field is set to Auditing, and click Configure Business Object Attributes.
  3. On the Configure Business Object Attributes page, select Project Foundation as the product.
  4. In the Objects table, enable audit for the objects as required.
  5. Select an enabled object. The attributes enabled for audit by default for the selected object appear in the Audited Attributes section.

Then, enable the Flexfields (Additional Attributes) check box from the Audited Attributes column to select all the additional attributes for audit purposes. The Flexfields check box is available only when you have configured the flexfields in the application.

Audit History

You can keep a close tab on the objects enabled for auditing by viewing audit reports that list the nature, time, and the user who effected the change. You must have the View Audit History privilege under the Audit Reporting Duty to view audit reports.

To view audit reports for objects, perform the following steps:
  1. Click Navigator > Tools > Audit Reports .
  2. On the Audit Reports page, enter a date in the Date field.
  3. In the Product field, select Project Foundation.
  4. In the Business Object Type field, select the object as required.
  5. Enable the Include child objects option if you select Rate Schedule as the business object type.
  6. Click Search.

Enable the option Show Attribute Details and select all or specific attributes as required to view old and new values for the selected attributes in the audit report.

The default search displays a summary of the audit history in the search results table, with key data such as date, user, product, event type, business object type, and description. If you want a detailed report, search again with modified search criteria. You can review the change history online or export it to a spreadsheet and review it offline.
Note: If the report contains more records but aren't displayed because of the set limit, you will see this message in the last row of the report: “Results were limited to xxxx no. of rows. Contact your administrator to reset the limit, or refine the criteria and search again.”
