Configuring Project Financial Management Applications

A project application administrator can create new custom objects and add attributes to the custom objects to meet specific business needs using Application Composer. In Project Financial Management applications, you can configure the Project object using an active sandbox.

For example, add fields in a child object created under the Project object to document project close notes, retrospective, and lessons learned. In particular, you can use the Long Text field type to capture detailed information up to 32,000 characters. The child objects appear as additional tabs on the Manage Financial Project Settings page.

After you create a custom object, you can:

  • Use the REST service to create, view, and update the custom object.

  • Create a new subject area to report on the custom object.

Since your organization can view the changes you make at runtime immediately, you must first create or select a sandbox and isolate your changes. A sandbox provides an independent development environment so that you can fully test your changes before publishing the sandbox and making the changes available to your organization.

Navigate to Application Composer from Configuration and select ERP and SCM Cloud in the Application field. You can view the objects for Project Financial Management applications under Standard Objects menu.
