Automatically Create Project Assets from Project Cost Transactions
Streamline your asset management lifecycle by automatically creating and maintaining project assets from a variety of project transactions, such as item receipts and supplier invoices.
You can automatically create project assets in the following scenarios:
- Item Receipts: When you receive items for capital projects, the application creates project assets for both inventory and expense destinations (accrued at receipt). For serial-controlled items, the application creates separate project assets for each serial number.
- Supplier Invoices: When you process supplier invoices for capital projects, the application creates project assets for invoices matched to non-accruing expense purchase orders and for unmatched invoices with distributions marked as assets.
Oracle Projects automatically updates project asset units when you process subsequent transactions, such as receipt returns and corrections, invoice cancellations, and quantity corrections. The application places project assets on hold if these transactions reduce asset units to zero. You can identify all automatically created project assets by reviewing the relevant fields in the application.
